Day 6: Trust in the Lord – Lessons from Abram and Job (365 Steps with God)

In today’s readings, we journey with Abram and Job as they model unwavering trust in God amidst trials and uncertainties. From Abram’s obedience in leaving his homeland to Job’s faith in the midst of suffering, we are reminded to trust in the Lord’s promises and find peace in His steadfast love.

A Quick Recap
In Day 5, we explored the story of Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, reflecting on the difference between ambition and excellence. We learned how striving for personal glory, as seen in the construction of the Tower, leads to division and chaos, while pursuing excellence for God’s glory brings unity and purpose. It was a reminder to evaluate our motivations and align our goals with God’s plans, trusting Him as the ultimate architect of our lives.
Dear Chloe,
Hi, sweetheart!
Today’s readings made me think about trust. It's something so simple yet so hard to do, especially when life gets tough. Have you ever trusted someone to catch you when you jumped, only to feel a little scared mid-air? That’s how trusting God can feel sometimes. But just like Abram and Job, we’re called to take that leap of faith, believing that God’s arms are always there to catch us.
Let’s walk through what we learned today. I hope it inspires you to trust God more, even when life doesn’t seem to make sense.
Lesson 1: Faithful Obedience – Abram’s Journey
Abram’s story begins with a big call: “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1). Imagine being told to leave everything familiar and head to an unknown place! Yet, Abram obeyed, trusting God’s promise to make him a great nation.
What This Means for You, Chloe:
When God asks you to step into the unknown, remember Abram. He trusted God’s promises, even when the future seemed unclear and uncertain. It’s okay to feel scared, but trust that God always has a plan for you, and He will guide you every step of the way.
For Moms:
Making decisions can feel overwhelming, especially when the outcome isn't clear, right? But like Abram, we can choose to trust that God has a perfect plan for us. Kahit minsan parang ang labo, kapit lang, momsh! Trust that He’s leading you to the place where you’re meant to be.
Trust and Surrender in Uncertainty
A final thought before we wrap up:
Chloe, life will have its moments of uncertainty and pain, just like it did for Abram and Job. But their stories teach us a beautiful truth: trusting God doesn’t mean life will be easy, but it means we’re never alone. When you face tough times, remember that God’s promises are sure, His love is steadfast, and His wisdom will guide you.
Love always,
Ninang

Lesson 2: Worship in Trials – Job’s Response
Job’s life turned upside down in an instant. He lost his wealth, his children, and his health. Yet, his response was remarkable: “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21).
What This Means for You, Chloe:
When life gets hard, remember Job’s example. Even in pain, he chose to worship and trust God. You can do the same by focusing on God’s goodness, even when things don’t make sense.
For Moms:
Sometimes, life can feel so unfair, right? But just like Job, who faced overwhelming suffering, we can choose to keep trusting in the Lord. Instead of dwelling on our problems, let’s focus on prayer and trust that God’s plan for us is best.
Lesson 3: Wisdom Begins with Trust – Proverbs 1:1-7
The Book of Proverbs opens with a powerful truth: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). Trusting God’s wisdom is the foundation for navigating life’s challenges.
What This Means for You, Chloe:
“Fear of the Lord” doesn’t mean being scared of God, but rather trusting Him completely because He is a loving Father. He’s not a tyrant or a dictator. He’s the One who knows you best and wants what’s good for you. Start each day trusting in His wisdom, knowing that His guidance will lead you to the right path with love and care.
For Moms:
Trusting God’s wisdom is important especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming. While we might not always see the full picture, knowing He holds the answers can bring calm to the chaos. Pray for His guidance, momsh, and take comfort in the fact that His plans are filled with love and purpose, even in challenging times.
