Step into Day 3 of the 365-day Bible reading journey. Explore Genesis 5–6 and Psalm 136 to discover Noah’s faithfulness in a broken world and God’s enduring mercy. Moms will find practical insights on trusting God during life’s storms and leading their families with faith and hope, even amidst challenges.

A Quick Recap

In our previous reading, we witnessed the escalation of sin through Adam and Eve's disobedience and Cain's tragic act against Abel. Despite these transgressions, God's unwavering love remained evident. Psalm 104 reminded us of His continuous care for creation, offering comfort amidst human shortcomings.

Dear Chloe,

Hi, sweetheart!

Today’s chapters, Genesis 5–6 and Psalm 136, introduce us to Noah, a man who chose to walk with God even when everyone else was doing wrong.

I know it might feel strange to read about God planning a big flood and starting over. But here’s what I want you to remember: God never gives up on us. He saw Noah’s goodness and gave him a way to stay safe—the ark. Noah listened to God and obeyed, even though it wasn’t easy or popular.

Sometimes, doing the right thing can feel hard, especially when others around us aren’t making the best choices. But just like Noah, you can trust that God sees your heart and will guide you when you choose to follow Him. And remember, Psalm 136 tells us over and over, “His mercy endures forever.” God’s love and mercy are bigger than anything we face.

(Moms, isn’t this a reminder we need, too? It’s not easy to stay strong in faith when the world pulls us in so many directions. But Noah’s story shows us the power of trusting God and leading our families with faith. His mercy really does endure forever, even when the storms come.)

Lesson 1: Walking with God Amidst a Broken World

Noah's righteousness stood out in a corrupt society. His close relationship with God, described as "walking with God," highlights the importance of maintaining faith even when surrounded by negativity.

What This Means for You, Chloe:

When you feel alone in making good choices, remember Noah. Walking with God means talking to Him, listening, and doing what He says, even if others are not.

For Moms:

Our environment may challenge our values, but like Noah, we can choose to walk faithfully with God. Marami talagang negative influences sa paligid (sa social media o kahit sa news), but, like Noah, we can choose to walk with God in spite of these distractions. ‘Wag magpa-pressure. Let’s focus on setting an example of faith for our children.

Walk with God Daily

A final thought before we wrap up:

Life can sometimes get busy and overwhelming, and it’s easy to forget to spend time with God. But just like Noah, you can choose to walk with Him every day. Take a few moments each morning or evening to talk to God—kahit short lang! Tell Him about your day, thank Him for His blessings, and ask for His help when things are hard.

When you make time for God, you’ll feel His strength and love guiding you through whatever comes your way. Remember, sweetheart, walking with God isn’t about being perfect—it’s about staying close to Him every single day.

Love always,

Ninang

Lesson 2: Obedience as an Act of Trust

God gave Noah specific instructions to build the ark, a task that required immense trust and obedience. Noah's compliance, despite the unprecedented nature of the flood, exemplifies unwavering faith.

What This Means for You, Chloe:

Sometimes, God asks us to do things that seem hard or don't make sense. Trusting Him and obeying shows our love and faith in His good plans for us.

For Moms:

Ang hirap sumunod minsan, lalo na kung di klaro yung plano, ‘di ba? Pero moms, obedience is an act of trust, kahit parang “Hala, Lord, sure ka ba dito?” Just like Noah, when we follow God’s guidance, kahit challenging, we show our children that trusting God leads to peace and blessings. Kaya kapit lang! God knows what He’s doing, promise!

Lesson 3: God's Enduring Mercy (Psalm 136)

Psalm 136 is a beautiful reminder of God's everlasting mercy. Each verse recounts His mighty deeds, affirming that "His mercy endures forever," even in times of judgment.

What This Means for You, Chloe:

God's love never stops. Just like He took care of Noah, He will always take care of you, no matter what happens.

For Moms:

Grabe talaga si Lord, mga moms! His mercy everlasting. Kahit feeling natin minsan parang ang bigat ng mga problema, Psalm 136 reminds us that God’s love is constant. Kaya kung feeling mo overwhelmed ka na, pause and remember: “His mercy endures forever.” Hindi tayo pinapabayaan ni Lord. He’s got us, lagi!
