Day 10: Abraham’s Faith and Job’s Struggles – Finding God in Uncertainty (365 Steps with God)

Day 10 explores Abraham’s faltering faith, Job’s honest lament, and God’s unwavering provision and wisdom, reminding us of His faithfulness even in imperfection and suffering.

A Quick Recap
In our last reflection, we delved into the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, learning about God’s justice and mercy. Today, we continue with Genesis 20-21, where Abraham falters in faith yet sees God’s promise fulfilled through Isaac. We also walk with Job as he wrestles with deep pain in chapters 9-10 and gain wisdom from Proverbs 2:6-8. These passages remind us that God’s faithfulness remains steady even when our trust wavers or life feels unbearable.
Dear Chloe,
Hi, sweetheart!
Remember how we talked about God’s justice and mercy yesterday? Today, we’re exploring a different aspect of God’s character: His faithfulness in the face of human imperfection and suffering. Abraham’s story shows us that even when we falter, God’s promises stand. And Job teaches us it’s okay to question and wrestle with God during hard times.
Let’s learn together how we can trust Him even when things feel uncertain.
Lesson 1: Faith Doesn’t Require Perfection
Abraham, often called the “Father of Faith,” didn’t always act courageously. In Genesis 20, he again passed off Sarah as his sister to protect himself, faltering in trust. Yet, God intervened, ensuring Sarah’s safety and fulfilling His promise with the miraculous birth of Isaac. Even Abraham’s failures couldn’t derail God’s plan.
What This Means for You, Chloe:
Faith isn’t about being perfect. It’s about trusting God even when we mess up. Like Abraham, we may stumble, but God’s promises never fail. Keep taking small steps of faith, even when it’s hard.
For Moms:
Can you relate to Abraham’s failures? Sometimes it feels like every decision we make is wrong. But just like Abraham, our story doesn’t end with our mistakes. God’s faithfulness shines brighter than our fears. Keep going, momma. You’re doing better than you think!
God’s Faithfulness in Imperfection and Pain
A final thought before we wrap up:
Whether we’re faltering like Abraham, crying out like Hagar, or questioning like Job, God’s faithfulness never wavers. He meets us in our weakness and walks with us through uncertainty.
Remember, Chloe, failure and pain don’t disqualify you from His love. You are His, and that will never change.
Love always,
Ninang

Lesson 2: God Hears Our Cries
Hagar’s story in Genesis 21 shows us God’s compassion. Cast out into the wilderness with Ishmael, Hagar felt hopeless. But God heard Ishmael’s cries and provided water and a promise of a future. Even in isolation, God’s care never wavered.
What This Means for You, Chloe:
When you feel alone or scared, remember Hagar. God hears you, even when no one else seems to. Just like He provided for Hagar, He’ll provide for you too.
For Moms:
It’s hard to stay strong for the family, especially when we're tired. But take heart. God hears the silent cries of moms like us. He’s ready to provide, even when we can’t see it yet. Trust His timing.
Lesson 3: It’s Okay to Ask Hard Questions
In Job 9-10, Job pours out his confusion and pain to God. He questions why he’s suffering and wonders if God is still on his side. Though Job’s questions are raw, they come from a place of faith—believing God is big enough to handle them.
What This Means for You, Chloe:
God isn’t afraid of your questions. When life feels unfair, talk to Him. He loves hearing from you, even when your heart is heavy.
For Moms:
Sometimes we feel utterly drained and we wonder, “Lord, anyare??” Job’s story reminds us that it’s okay to ask God questions. He’s not offended by our pain or doubts. Keep the conversation going. He’s listening.

Looking Ahead
Tomorrow, we’ll continue with Abraham and Isaac’s journey and learn about one of the most powerful displays of trust in God. Keep your heart open, Chloe. God’s story is unfolding in ways we can’t yet see.
